Plastic surgery for men: Wrinkles
Wrinkles are developed in the aging process due to decreasing skin elasticity and excessive muscle tension (mimic wrinkles like the "frown line" - the crinkles above your nose between your eyebrows) by the action of gravity and volume reduction (e.g. "nasobial folds" between corners of the mouth and nose).
There are different treatment options available depending on the cause and the part of the body. The option can also be combined for an even better result.
Since there are over 150 supplements on the market it is necessary and very important that your doctor deals critically with these products in order to avoid undesirably effects.
Botulinum toxin (Bocouture®Botox®, Vistabel®, Azzalure®, Dysport®, Xeomin®)
Botulinum type A is a bacterial protein which relaxes the treated muscles by blocking the nerve impulses and so smoothes the skin. It can be used for the prevention and reduction of wrinkle depth in mimic caused wrinkles such as horizontal forehead wrinkles (worry lines), frown (glabellar lines), smile lines (crows feet), nose wrinkles (bunny lines) and lip wrinkles. Also a hanging corner of the mouth (marionette lines, today also called Merkel folds), gingival smile (Gummy smile), a so-called cobblestone chin, neck cords and tooth grinding (bruxism, masseteric) can be successfully treated with botulinum toxin. The position of the nose bridge, eyebrows position and eye slot (big eye) can be changed by a minimal doses.

Hyaluronic acid
Cross-linked hyaluronic acid / filler (e.g. Belotero®Juvederm®Restylane®)
With hyaluronic acid wrinkles can be lifted and lip contours emphasised. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance which is related to the connective tissue. The preparations are produced synthetically and reduced by enzymes of the body over time. A prior allergic testing is not necessary. The result of the treatment (forehead wrinkles, frown lines, eye area, eyebrow, earlobe, lip lines and lip volume, marionette- and nasolabial folds) is immediately visible.

Native hyaluronic acid (e.g. HYAL-System®, Hyal ACP® )
With uncross-linked hyaluronic acid a bio revitalisation/ mesotherapy can be performed. This applies especially for large skin surfaces with incipient and advanced elastosis (fine wrinkle lines) on the face, neck and cleavage. By stimulating the metabolism and the equal distribution in the skin the elasticity, tone, moisture and thickness of the skin can be positively influenced. The result is a skin rejuvenation with an improved complexion.

Calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse®)
Calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse®) is a synthetic mineral substance with which it is possible to compensate very deep wrinkles, restore youthful contours and volume defects. At the same time a new collagenous connective tissue is formed by activating the collagen synthesis in the skin. The mineral components are metabolised by the body. The result lasts longer since the human body does not have special enzymes for reduction.

Calcium hydroxyapatite has been used in different body tissues for over 20 years. It got the official approval in the EU in 2004 and in 2006 in the US by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
Calcium hydroxyapatite is particularly suitable for volume structure (e.g. from cheekbones, cheeks, chin, eyebrows), the filling of deep nasolabial and marionette lines, restoration of facial and body contours (lower jaw, chin, defects of nasal dorsum) and for the treatment on the back of the hand.
Using the so-called vector technique it is possible to achieve 3-dimensional rejuvenation of the face which is corresponding to a facelift with volume application.
Also large volume defects such as after a massive weight reduction or in HIV-lipoatrophy can be successfully treated in this way.
In order to perform a painless treatment of larger areas it is possible to prior use a numbing cream or local anaesthesia.
Own body fat (lipofilling)
Own fat can be used with excellent results in order to feed larger volume losses or land areas with the body's own material. The natural fat underlayment is a surgical method in which fat from a particular area (buttocks, abdomen, thighs) is gently sucked (liposuction). After a work-up with a special process it is injected again into another area (e.g. cheek areas of the face, chest).

Blunt needles (atraumatic cannulas)
So far the injections were made at the tip with a sharp needle to get into the tissue layers. Recently a new technology with the use of blunt needles has been developed. This technique allows a special, soft tissue friendly application in the correct tissue layer. The advanced technology is especially used for increasing volume, the "liquid" facelift and the lip modelling.
Permanent filler
We do not use the so-called permanent filler at our practice. The risks and side effects are enormously high. From my varied experience with such complications I cannot recommend this treatment to any patient.
