Ultherapy is a new, non-invasive method for skin tightening and skin smoothing. Sagging skin on the face (e.g. "hamster cheeks"), neck ("turkey neck") or décolleté are gently and effectively tightened. Also areas of the body such as the upper arms or inner thighs can be treated effectively with this method.
In Ultherapy an ultrasonic head glides smoothly over the skin and provides many small hotspots in the deep layers of the skin. The lifting effect is achieved by this micro focused ultrasound which provides controlled heat up to 70°C. These deep skin layers can normally only be mobilised when facelifts are done with surgery. The achieved temperature range causes the existing collagen fibres to be tightened (collagen shrinking). Also the production of new collagen and elastin is stimulated which provides increased elasticity of the skin. The solid collagen fibres can therefore strengthen the connective tissue and cause skin tightening.
The effect can be seen immediately after the lifting - only without a surgery. In contrast to surgical facelifts Ultherapy can improve both the skin structure and the skin elasticity.

Ultherapy® The skin surface remains completely unharmed. The visual changes are completed after 6 months. The collagen newly produced by the Ultherapy are broken down in a natural way over the years.
This procedure was approved by the US Food and Drugs Administration and is currently the only non-invasive lifting procedure. Since then many American practices are successfully using this method. The practice of Dr Montanari is one of the few users of this innovative form of treatment in Germany. It is an excellent alternative for those patients who do not want a surgery but still want to look younger and fresher.
The treatment can be combined with both surgical and non-surgical methods. We offer a combination with wrinkle injections with hyaluronic acid and botulinum and with micro needling. Parallel to the treatment with Ultherapy we do a lipolysis (fat-away injection) with sagging cheeks or fat under the skin of a double chin. So the skin tightening is stimulated after the fat removal through the Ultherapy and production of the collagen.

The advantages of Ultherapy treatment:

  • tight skin usually visible after a few days, skin appears smoother and fresher
  • final lifting effects are visible after 3 to 6 months
  • pain-free treatment
  • no surgery needed
  • treatment without any restrictions
  • skin surface is not damaged, no scars
  • combination with other methods for skin tightening possible
  • treatment can be done anytime of the year because afterwards the skin is not overly sensitive to sunlight

Treatment with Ultherapy is as follows:
Before the treatment you receive an analgesic for oral use. If necessary a numbing cream is applied in addition. The treatment can also be performed under sedation also it is considered rather painless for most patients. The treatment starts with the marking of the area which is about to be treated. The treatment head is guided according to a specific scheme across the skin. At the same time an ultrasound image device supplies a current picture of the treated area at any time. So a spot-on conducting takes place in the depths of the treatment points so Ultherapy can be used optimally and effectively. Bundled ultrasound is arranged on linearly focused tiny dots. The skin remains completely unharmed.

Treatment with Ultherapy

The Ultherapy itself lasts depending on the extent of treatment between 15 minutes (the eyebrow lift) and 90 minutes (tightening of the skin throughout the face, chin and neck).
After the treatment you can go directly back into your daily routine. Depending on the sensitivity there may be slight redness, swelling or touch sensitivity after the treatment. These usually last a few hours and sometimes up to 2 days. Every now and then it can come to a formation of bruises if patients tend to get them easily. These undesirable side effects are as good as ruled out in this particularly secure Ultherapy treatment. The tightening of the treated area can usually be seen within a few days. The complete lifting effect of Ultherapy usually adjusts itself after 3 to 6 months.
Regular intake of corticoids and analgesics and chemotherapeutics inhibits the corresponding cell activity and thereby prevents a satisfactory result after a Ultherapy treatment. Sunbathing (including tanning beds) and smoking also have a negative impact on the result of the treatment. Patients under 18 years, pregnant and nursing women and patients with severe chronic illness cannot be treated with the Ultherapy treatment.
For optimisation a repeated Ultherapy treatment is possible after 6 months. In order to ensure a solid result a refresher may be necessary after 3 to 5 years.
