Due to pronounced facial expressions, forehead wrinkles (worry lines) and frown lines (glabellar lines) can also form, which are usually treated very well with botulinum toxin.<\/p>

If there is pronounced excess skin and wrinkles, a forehead lift can be useful, which also raises the eyebrows.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How is a forehead lift performed?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A forehead lift can be performed in various ways, depending on the individual requirements and wishes of our patients. As a rule, the procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under general anaesthetic.<\/p>

In a forehead lift using the Presto technique, 2 small incisions are made behind the hairline through which the special surgical Presto instrument can be inserted. This technique allows the forehead skin to be lifted gently, excess tissue to be removed and the forehead muscles to be tightened. Scars are minimal and almost invisible with this procedure.<\/p>

Another method is the classic forehead lift, in which a longer incision is made along the hairline or inside the scalp. This method offers a more comprehensive view of the forehead and allows for a more detailed adjustment and removal of excess tissue. Despite the larger incision, the scars are usually well concealed and heal inconspicuously. Modern techniques such as the minimally invasive Ultherapy procedure are also used to gently tighten the forehead and lift the eyebrows without surgery.<\/p>

Regardless of the method chosen, a forehead lift is followed by careful aftercare. Patients can usually resume their everyday lives quickly as the procedure is minimally invasive and the recovery time is short.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What is the difference between a forehead lift and a brow lift?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The forehead lift focusses on the entire forehead region. Excess skin is removed and the forehead muscles are tightened to achieve a more youthful and smoother appearance. Both endoscopic techniques and classic incisions can be used. The brow lift, on the other hand, focusses on lifting the eyebrows (more about the brow lift). This operation can also be performed endoscopically or through small incisions along the brow line. The aim is to lift the brows without tightening the entire forehead skin, rejuvenating the eye area and creating a more awake appearance.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The longevity of the results of a forehead lift can vary depending on individual factors such as skin type, age and lifestyle. In general, the results of a well-performed brow lift can last around 5 to 10 years. Over time, however, the skin will continue to undergo the natural ageing process, which can cause the skin to lose elasticity again and wrinkles to appear.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The healing phase after a forehead lift is generally uncomplicated. Immediately after the procedure, slight swelling and bruising may occur, but these will subside within a few days to weeks.<\/p>

It is important to keep your head elevated for the first few days after the operation and to avoid physical exertion to aid healing.<\/p>

Patients can often resume their normal activities within a week, but should avoid intense physical activity and sun exposure for a few weeks.<\/p>

Follow-up appointments are essential to monitor the healing process and ensure that no complications develop.<\/p>

A forehead lift is a relatively safe procedure, but like any operation it does harbour certain risks.<\/p>

Possible complications include infection, bleeding, swelling and scarring. There may also be a temporary or permanent change in sensitivity in the forehead area.<\/p>

In rare cases, asymmetrical results or hair loss along the incision line may occur.<\/p>
