What is being done?
In which area can PROFHILO® have it treated?
PROFHILO® is suitable as a filler wherever wrinkles, including parchment skin, have formed as a result of the ageing process. In other words, in all areas where the skin is naturally very thin and is most likely to visibly lose elasticity and show signs of fatigue. These include: Face, neck, décolleté, hands, the area above the knees, the inside of the upper arms and the stomach.
PROFHILO®-Treatment at a glance
Target:
Skin rejuvenation through a moisturising boost and stimulation of the body's own collagen and elastin production.
Consistency:
Very fluid, spreads evenly under the skin.
Application:
Injection at defined points (e.g. BAP technique on the face or neck). Profhilo contains a particularly highly concentrated, non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which intensively moisturises the skin, stimulates collagen and elastin formation and tightens the skin structure. The result is a naturally fresh, firmer complexion without a "plumped-up" effect
Effect:
First effects after a few weeks, full effect after approx. 4 weeks, lasts approx. 6 months.

Is the PROFHILO®-treatment painful?
You only feel the few small punctures. For patients who are sensitive to pain, an anaesthetic cream can be applied before the treatment, which lasts for around 40 minutes.
How long does the PROFHILO®-treatment?
Depending on the treatment area, the treatment takes a maximum of 20 minutes and is therefore also suitable for a lunch break, for example. If an anaesthetic cream is to be applied beforehand, the total time is extended to approx. one hour. Immediately after the treatment, you can go about your normal daily activities without any problems. Possible small haematomas or puncture marks that are still visible in the first few days can be covered with make-up.
Does the PROFHILO®-treatment be repeated?
Can I use the PROFHILO®-treatment with other treatments?
PROFHILO®- can be combined with other methods to further optimise the treatment result. The methods used in PROFHILO®- The hyaluronic acid contained in the ultrasound treatment visibly moisturises the skin. For an even greater rejuvenating effect, combination treatments with the micro-focussed ultrasound of Ultherapy®, Botulinum toxin, other hylauronic acid fillers, Radiesse® and operational measures be carried out.

What requirements should you fulfil?
- As with any planned treatment, you should be in generally good health to aid healing after treatment.
- There should be no acute skin diseases or inflammation in the treatment area.
- The skin should not have any open wounds or infections.
- You should not have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or the other ingredients of Profhilo.
- The treatment goal should be realistically assessed, e.g. improvement of skin structure and elasticity, not the treatment of deep wrinkles.
- There should be a willingness to comply with aftercare recommendations and regular check-ups.
- You must be of legal age.
What are the risks with Profhilo?
- Redness or swelling may occur in the treated area.
- Sometimes small bruises occur, but these usually disappear quickly.
- In rare cases, slight pressure pain or a feeling of tension may occur.
- Allergic reactions are possible but very rare.
- Infections can be favoured by improper use or non-compliance with aftercare measures.
When should treatment not be carried out?
- In case of known hypersensitivity or allergy to hyaluronic acid or one of the ingredients of Profhilo.
- During an acute infection or inflammation in the skin area to be treated, e.g. herpes or bacterial infections.
- For existing skin diseases or open wounds in the treatment area.
- During pregnancy or breastfeeding, as no adequate safety studies are available to date.
- In the case of autoimmune diseases or severe systemic diseases, the doctor treating the patient should be consulted before treatment.
- If you are taking blood-thinning medication, there is an increased risk of bruising; individual medical clarification is advisable here.
What does science say about Profhilo?
Yes, Profhilo® has been tested in several clinical studies and in international Safety analyses examined. Both the skin effect and the tolerability of the treatment were assessed.
