What is PROFHILO® and what does it do?

PROFHILO® is a biocompatible, highly pure hyaluronic acid in which high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid combine under the influence of heat to form a hybrid molecule. This special combination with the help of heating makes it possible to dispense with additives during production, which ensures very good tolerability and minimises the risk of side effects. The hyaluronic acid contained in PROFHILO® binds water in the skin and moisturises the tissue from the inside out. It also stimulates the formation of elastin and collagen. The skin appears significantly rejuvenated, plumper and firmer and finer overall. Due to the special manufacturing process, PROFHILO® remains in the tissue up to thirty times longer than non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

What is being done?

Yes, depending on the desired body area (Faceneck, décolleté, hands or other parts of the body), the hyaluronic acid is injected into defined injection points with a very fine needle according to a specially developed treatment programme. Thanks to its special composition and the specially developed BAP injection technique (Bio Aesthetic Points), PROFHILO® is then distributed automatically in the tissue and moisturises it completely.

Which areas can be treated with PROFHILO®?

PROFHILO® is suitable as a filler wherever wrinkles, including parchment skin, have formed as a result of the ageing process. In other words, in all areas where the skin is naturally very thin and is most likely to visibly lose elasticity and show signs of fatigue. These include: Face, neck, décolleté, hands, the area above the knees, the inside of the upper arms and the stomach.

Is the PROFHILO® treatment painful?

You only feel the few small punctures. For patients who are sensitive to pain, an anaesthetic cream can be applied before the treatment, which lasts for around 40 minutes.

How long does the PROFHILO® treatment take?

The treatment takes a maximum of 20 minutes, depending on the treatment area. If an anaesthetic cream is to be applied beforehand, the total time is extended to approx. one hour. Immediately after the treatment, you can go about your normal daily activities without any problems. Any small haematomas or puncture marks that are still visible in the first few days can be covered with make-up.

Does the PROFHILO® treatment have to be repeated?

The results of a PROFHILO treatment last up to two years. For optimum results, a treatment cycle comprises two injections four weeks apart and a further injection after three months. An additional touch-up treatment after 6 months is possible for more pronounced findings.

Can I combine the PROFHILO® treatment with other treatments?

PROFHILO® can be combined with other methods to further optimise the treatment result. The hyaluronic acid contained in PROFHILO® visibly moisturises the skin. For an even greater rejuvenating effect, combination treatments with the micro-focussed ultrasound of Ultherapy®, Botulinum toxin, other hylauronic acid fillers, Radiesse® and operational measures be carried out.
