BTL Emsella™ - Pelvic floor training

Definition:
EM - ElectroMagnetic, Sella (lat.) chair

Associated terms:
electromagnetic wave, HIFEM, treatment of incontinence, pelvic floor tightening

Basic information about BTL Emsella™

Unconscious urine loss can lead to psychological problems and an impaired quality of life. During the treatment, an extremely strong, focussed electromagnetic field is generated. These high intensities achieve supramaximal contractions of the pelvic floor while you, the patient, sit comfortably and clothed on the Emsella applicator.

BTL Emsella Mode of action

This enables non-invasive treatment of the pelvic floor and incontinence without a great deal of effort. This device, which has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has so far been used in the USA and occasionally in other European countries.

What advantages does BTL Emsella™ offer?

The Emsella™ chair uses high-intensity focussed electromagnetic technology (HIFEM) to create muscle contractions in the pelvic floor area. This technology allows the muscles to contract and relax in a similar way to traditional exercises, but with a much higher intensity and frequency. This effectively strengthens and trains the muscles of the pelvic floor.

A strengthened pelvic floor protects the internal organs better and lifts them slightly. Stress and stress incontinence caused by a weak pelvic floor after pregnancy or age-related sagging can be improved or eliminated. Emsella™ also strengthens the lower back and lower abdominal muscles.

When can the Emsella™ chair be used?

The Emsella™ chair can be used in various areas for men and women. Common areas are pelvic floor control, the treatment of incontinence/bladder weakness or sexual disorders. With its electromagnetic technology, it helps to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, which is particularly useful after operations, for postnatal (after childbirth) complaints or for general improvement of pelvic floor function.

A side effect: the Emsella™ chair often promotes general well-being.
