Wrinkle treatment for men

Wrinkles occur during the ageing process due to decreasing skin elasticity, excessive muscle tension (mimic wrinkles such as the "frown line" - the wrinkle above the nose, between the eyebrows) due to the effects of gravity and loss of volume (e.g. the "nasolabial fold" between the corner of the mouth and nose).

Depending on the cause and the body region, various treatment options are available, which can also be combined for an even better result.

As there are over 150 different products on the market for this purpose, it is necessary and extremely important that your doctor takes a critical look at these products in order to largely avoid undesirable effects.

Botulinum toxin (Bocouture®Botox®, Vistabel®, Azzalure®, Dysport®, Xeomin®)

A well-known method of treating wrinkles is injecting type A botulinum. This is a bacterial protein that relaxes the muscles to be treated by blocking nerve impulses. This smoothes the overlying skin.

It can be used to prevent and reduce the depth of wrinkles caused by facial expressions, such as horizontal forehead wrinkles (worry lines), frown lines (glabellar lines), laugh lines (crow's feet), nose wrinkles (bunny lines) and lip wrinkles.

A drooping corner of the mouth (marionette lines, today also known as Merkel lines), a gummy smile, a so-called cobblestone chin, neck strands and teeth grinding (bruxism, masseter hypertrophy) can also be successfully treated with botulinum toxin. Minimal doses can be used to change the position of the nasal bridge, the position of the eyebrows and the cleft of the eyelids (big eye).

Hyaluronic acid

Natural (native) hyaluronic acid (e.g. HYAL-System®, Hyal ACP® )

Non-cross-linked hylauronic acids can be used for biorevitalisation/mesotherapy of large areas of skin with incipient and advanced elastosis (fine wrinkles) on the face, neck and décolleté.

By stimulating the metabolism and even distribution in the skin, the elasticity, resilience, moisture and thickness of the skin can be positively influenced, resulting in a Skin rejuvenation with an improved complexion leads.

Cross-linked hyaluronic acid / filler (e.g. Belotero®Juvederm®Restylane®)

Hyaluronic acid (also known as hyaluron for short) can be used to Wrinkles lifted or Lip contours emphasised become. Hyaluron is a substance related to natural connective tissue. The preparations are produced synthetically and broken down by the body's enzymes over time.

Prior allergy testing is not necessary.

The results of the treatment (forehead wrinkles, frown lines, eye area, eyebrow, earlobes, lip lines and lip volume, marionette and nasolabial folds) are immediately visible.

Calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse®)

This is possible with calcium hydroxyapatite, a synthetically produced mineral substance, Very deep wrinkles and volume defects and restore youthful contours. At the same time, collagen synthesis in the skin is activated so that new collagenous connective tissue is formed. The mineral components are metabolised by the body over the course of the treatment. As there are no special enzymes in the human body to metabolise them, as is the case with hyaluronic acid, for example, the results last a little longer.

Calcium hydroxyapatite has been used in various body tissues for over 20 years. It was officially authorised by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the EU in 2004 and in the USA in 2006. There it is now the 2nd most widely used filler substance.

Calcium hydroxylapatite is particularly suitable for increasing volume (e.g. cheekbones, cheeks, chin, eyebrows), filling deep nasolabial and marionette lines, restoring facial and body contours (lower jaw, chin, defects in the bridge of the nose) and for treating the back of the hand.

With the help of the so-called vector technique, it is possible to achieve a comprehensive 3-dimensional rejuvenation of the face, which corresponds to a face lift with volume application.

Large volume defects, e.g. after massive weight loss or in HIV lipoatrophy, can also be successfully treated in this way.

In order to be able to carry out a painless treatment of larger areas, it is possible to rub in an anaesthetic cream beforehand or add a local anaesthetic (anaesthetic) (approved by the FDA in 2009).

Autologous fat (lipofilling)

Autologous fat can be used excellently to fill larger volume losses or areas with the body's own material.

Autologous fat relining is a surgical methodLiposuction is a procedure in which body fat is gently removed from a specific region (buttocks, abdomen or thighs) and re-injected into another region (e.g. cheeks of the face, breasts) after processing using a special procedure.

Blunt (atraumatic) cannula (needles)

Previously, injections were only carried out using cannulas with sharp tips in order to reach the tissue layers easily. A new technique using blunt cannulas for treatment has recently been introduced. This technique enables a special soft tissue-friendly application in the correct tissue layer. This advanced technique is used in particular for volume augmentation, "liquid" face lifting with the vector technique and lip modelling.

Permanent fillers

We do not use so-called permanent fillers in our practice. The potential risks and side effects are immense. From my many experiences in dealing with such complications, I can only strongly advise every patient against such treatments!
