Upper arm lift / Thigh lifting

Upper arm lift

Skin excesses of the upper arm can be caused due to age-related skin slackening or weight loss. Because of the decrease in skin elasticity sports or diets usually do not lead to the desired result.

Excess tissue is removed during surgery. The contour of the upper arm can then be reshaped or recovered.

In a personal conversation we can discuss the optimal therapy depending on your findings. Various surgical options are used depending on the shaping:

  • An improvement of the upper arm silhouette can often be achieved with liposuction. An additional lift surgery may be useful to compliment this.
  • In extreme sagging of the skin a fusiform skin removal from the armpit to the elbow on the inner side of the arm is done. In this way the upper arm is tightened. A scar remains but it is barely visible and fades within a year.

After the surgery you will receive a specially made compression bandage. You should wear this for 6 weeks day and night. You should avoid strain on the arms for the first 2 weeks. An intensive skin care can be supportive to improve the limited elasticity.

Upper arm lift with Ultherapy

Ultherapy is a new, non-invasive method for skin tightening and skin smoothing. Sagging skin on the face (e.g. "hamster cheeks"), neck ("turkey neck") or décolleté are gently and effectively tightened. Also areas of the body such as the upper arms or inner thighs can be treated effectively with this method.
In Ultherapy an ultrasonic head glides smoothly over the skin and provides many small hotspots in the deep layers of the skin. The lifting effect is achieved by this micro focused ultrasound which provides controlled heat up to 70°C. These deep skin layers can normally only be mobilised when facelifts are done with surgery. The achieved temperature range causes the existing collagen fibres to be tightened (collagen shrinking). Also the production of new collagen and elastin is stimulated which provides increased elasticity of the skin. The solid collagen fibres can therefore strengthen the connective tissue and cause skin tightening.

Thigh lifting

Skin excesses of the thighs can be caused due to age-related skin slackening or weight loss. Because of the decrease in skin elasticity sports or diets usually do not lead to the desired result.

The sagging tissue can lead to physical problems with chafing and rubbing when wearing certain clothes or when moving. Often the affected patients have inhibitions like undressing for swimming.

Excess tissue is removed during surgery. The contour of the thighs can then be reshaped or recovered.

In a personal conversation we can discuss the optimal therapy depending on your findings. Various surgical options are used depending on the shaping:

  • A slight excess skin can be eliminated through the streamlining process of liposuction.
  • In extreme sagging of the skin an operational streamlining is performed. The scars are placed as far as possible in the existing skin folds of the groin to the butt.
  • An additional liposuction can often help to improve the result (e.g. the so called breeches)

After the surgery you will receive a specially made compression bandage. You should wear this for 6 weeks day and night. You should avoid strain on the arms for the first 2 weeks. An intensive skin care can be supportive to improve the limited elasticity.

To prevent rare but serious complications we implement thrombosis and antibiotic prophylaxis.
